Identification and measurement of minerals

Detectron2-v0.6

Detectron2-v0.6 is a deep learning model developed by Facebook AI Research and implemented in PyTorch.

It was modified and trained to identify eight minerals from intrusive igneous rocks.

Scikit-Image

Scikit-image is a Python package dedicated to image processing. It aims to provide a variety of powerful, free, and unrestricted tools.

With this tool, we obtained measurements such as: centroid, area, perimeter, diameter of the major axis, diameter of the minor axis of each identified mineral.

Automatic reporting

The results obtained are compiled in an automatic PDF report.
